Time for a bit of romance - something we all need every now and then. Stephanie Evanovich's 3 novels follow the journey of Holly, a widow and rather large. Off to the gym, meet a guy, get sexy and skinny at the same time. 

These are on the Specials list because they're a bit controversial - big girls feeling they need to lose weight, big strong men saving the day etc, but the latest novel by Stephanie has received some good reviews - perhaps because in The Total Package, it's the man who is in trouble. At least he isn't getting is backside smacked (see the comments below about The Sweet Spot).

Not all the reviews for this book are great. The subject matter turned some people off - a big girl who has to lose weight, the whole gym thing, and the big, strong man saving her while being a jerk etc etc - but other's see through all that and take it at face value - a good read about someone who gets what they want with a bit of sex and savvy thrown in. Again, this one has mixed reviews - mainly because Chase is into smacking bottoms and BDSM (Google it) - turned a few people off.

Amanda is "...deliberately pushing Chase to punish her for being a naughty girl because she secretly likes it when he spanks her." Ooookay. Too much information.

The Total Package - right out there and proud of it!!

To make things worse, Tyson doesn t realize that the bombshell with huge ratings is the cute co-ed whose heart he once broke.But can a sports journalist trying to claw her way to the top and a quarterback who knows all about rock bottom make it to the Super Bowl without destroying each other? And what will happen when Tyson riding high now that he s revived his career realizes he needs to make an even more important comeback with Dani? Can he use his million-dollar moves to get past her defenses or will she sideline him for good?

This one is getting much better reviews. The characters are more fully developed, the plot is better and the woman isn't reduced to being a plaything of the man - much more to people's taste.
