These are on the Specials list because they're a bit controversial - big girls feeling they need to lose weight, big strong men saving the day etc, but the latest novel by Stephanie has received some good reviews - perhaps because in The Total Package, it's the man who is in trouble. At least he isn't getting is backside smacked (see the comments below about The Sweet Spot).

Not all the reviews for this book are great. The subject matter turned some people off - a big girl who has to lose weight, the whole gym thing, and the big, strong man saving her while being a jerk etc etc - but other's see through all that and take it at face value - a good read about someone who gets what they want with a bit of sex and savvy thrown in. Again, this one has mixed reviews - mainly because Chase is into smacking bottoms and BDSM (Google it) - turned a few people off. Amanda is "...deliberately pushing Chase to punish her for being a naughty girl because she secretly likes it when he spanks her." Ooookay. Too much information. ​As one review put it "F*** you, Chase. And if anyone tired to spank me without my permission, I'd kick them so hard they'd choke on their own balls." This one is getting much better reviews. The characters are more fully developed, the plot is better and the woman isn't reduced to being a plaything of the man - much more to people's taste.

I think her depiction of struggling with addiction and then sobriety seemed well executed. I like that the whole book revolved around forgiveness and second chances.
